FHS HEAD COACH
MAT MAHONEY

Greetings to each of you from the Fairmont Area Football

Association, Inc! I would like to invite  you to become part of

the Cardinal football program in Fairmont by participating on

a tackle football team in the fall. 2011 marks the 6th year of

tackle football for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys. The results

have been very positive for the boys involved. They had fun,

learned principles of teamwork and sportsmanship,

and began developing the fundamental skills of football.

Ideally we want to field teams in each of the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Our teams practice in Fairmont two nights a week beginning in late August. Games are in Mankato & surrounding areas on Saturday mornings. The league is called the Mankato/North Mankato Youth Football(MNMYF). We stress participation, safety, skills, and fun.

If you would like more information, please call Brian Roggow @ 236-2718, Ned Koppen @ 399-1623, Doug Abel @ 235-3418, or Myron Moeller @ 235-3884. Registration forms and payments can be given to the above football association members or dropped off at the Fairmont Veterinary Clinic, 1275 Hwy. 15 South, Fairmont.

To guarantee that your child will be on a team, please register from May 1st through June 4th. Checks should be made payable to Fairmont Area Football Association, Inc. Payment must be received no later than June 11th to guarantee a roster spot. Registration/payment after June 11th will be accepted only if roster spots are available. Registration fees are $95.00, this includes equipment which is furnished by the league.

The Fairmont Football high school coaching staff works with the volunteer coaches to

ensure that the coaches are comfortable demonstrating and teaching the basic skills

and football fundamentals appropriate for these ages. Without volunteer coaches

this program can’t happen, so if you are interested in coaching please indicate that on

the registration form and/or contact one of the association members listed above.

Our efforts are to provide the opportunity to expose your son to the basic skills

and developmental techniques needed to play the game of tackle football, and to

prepare them for success in junior high football.
